Tottenham could lose five players for nothing in 2024
According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur could run the risk of losing five players to free transfers in 2024.
Daniel Levy supported Ange Postecoglou as he oversaw a reconstruction in the summer, adding 7 players, including Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Micky van de Ven, Ashley Phillips, Brennan Johnson, and Alejo Veliz.
Dejan Kulusevski’s and Pedro Porro’s loan agreements were both made permanent.
Spurs were able to get rid of some of the deadwoods toward the end of the transfer window, including Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon, and Tanguy Ndombele. Harry Kane, Joe Rodon, and Djed Spence were some of the other departings.
Hugo Lloris was not fired despite the player making it clear that he wanted to leave the team. The team tried to move him as well, but they were unable to come to an agreement with a club before the deadline.
He will be free to depart in the summer unless Spurs are able to reach a deal for him in January.
Fraser Forster is another goalie who will be a free agent in the next summer. This season, he is once again the backup goalkeeper to newcomer Guglielmo Vicario, who has performed admirably since joining the team.
He signed a two-year contract with Spurs in 2022, and if Spurs don’t extend it, he will be free to go in the summer.
Brandon Austin is another goalkeeper who could likely go on a free agent next summer, according to the source.
Similar to Hugo, Eric Dier is a player that Spurs apparently intended to sell in the summer but were unable to reach an agreement on a deal for because he preferred to stay.
He is not part of Ange’s plans, and this season, he has yet to make a start.
The veteran Spur seemed to wish to complete his deal so that he will have choices in the summer.
Ivan Perisic, another seasoned player at Tottenham who appears to be leaving soon, will be the last. He had a great start to the season under Ange Postecoglou before suffering an unlucky injury that will keep him out for at least six to seven months.
He might have participated in his last game for the Spurs. He is heavily rumored to be moving to Croatian club Hajduk Spit, but given his injury, it may not materialize in January. However, a free transfer throughout the summer is still possible.
