“Talks held” – Journalist says Tottenham are moving for “hugely popular” and “exciting” player
Tottenhamâs new star, Harry Kane, has come to the defense of young striker Mathys Tel, who recently faced abuse on social media from certain Bayern Munich fans.
The 18-year-old striker, who was linked with a potential move to Tottenham during the Harry Kane to Bayern transfer saga, found himself targeted after Bayernâs cup final loss to RB Leipzig.
Mathys Tel was one of the players blamed for the defeat, and was subjected to abuse on social media.
In response, Harry Kane spoke out against the abuse, condemning the behavior and expressing his support for the young talent.
Speaking to Sky Sportsâ Florian Plettenberg, Kane criticised the hate comments directed at Tel and highlighted his impressive potential.
Kane emphasised that Tel is an outstanding talent and called the abuse ânot acceptable.â
He extended his support to the 18-year-old and stated that both he and the team would be available if Tel wanted to discuss his feelings. He said:
âItâs not acceptable. Mathys is only 18 years old. He displayed a brilliant future ahead of him against Leipzig. He is an outstanding talent.
âThese so-called fans and such hate comments on social media are not to be tolerated. We all stand behind Mathys. The team and I will be available if Mathys wants to talk about his feelings. And once again: This is unacceptable!â
âď¸Excl. interview with @HKane! Most important thing is his message for Mathys #Tel who received inhuman racist comments on social media.

Mathys Telâs future at Bayern Munich has somewhat shifted with Harry Kaneâs arrival, as heâs fallen down the pecking order.
However, the young striker now has the opportunity to learn from one of the worldâs best strikers in Kane. The guidance and mentorship from Kane can be instrumental in shaping Telâs development as a player.
