‘TALK ON GOING’: Despite impressive start to the season Ange Postecoglou looks to revamp his defense with £14m star

Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations with Fulham over a swap deal involving Tosin Adarabioyo, Eric Dier, and money as Ange Postecoglou looks to bring in defensive reinforcements.

According to the online news source, a transfer between the two London clubs might take place before the transfer deadline on September 1.

With eight new players purchased for £165 million, including James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven, Dejan Kulusevski, and Guglielmo Vicario, Tottenham has been one of the busiest teams thus far in the window.

Postecoglou is still keen in adding to his defense, who kept their first clean sheet of the season against Manchester United last weekend, despite having already signed two defenders this summer.

The North Londoners finished the previous season in eighth place because they gave up too many goals. In the current season’s first two league games, Spurs have already given up two goals.

This summer, Postecoglou is reorganizing his team, and Dier has been judged unnecessary by the club. For their league matches against Brentford and Manchester United, Tottenham’s matchday roster did not feature the England international.

Dier has 361 games in all competitions, 13 goals, and 12 assists to his credit. He still has one year left on his contract.

Defensive reinforcement

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been associated with a number of defenders, and Adarabioyo has surfaced as a possible transfer target.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham and Fulham are in negotiations on a player-plus-cash swap deal featuring Adarabioyo and Dier, and a deal might be advantageous for all parties.

According to Football Insider, the Fulham center defender, who only has one year left on his contract, is drawing interest from a number of clubs, including AS Monaco. The Cottagers turned down an offer from the Ligue 1 giants.

The 25-year-old is a crucial component of Marco Silva’s team and a Craven Cottage crowd favorite. In 107 appearances across all competitions, he has contributed to five goals. He made 29 appearances and scored once for Fulham in the previous campaign, which saw them finish 10th in the Premier League standings.

After sitting out the team’s opening two league games against Everton and Brentford, he has yet to play a single minute for the club this year. His one-year contract extension with Fulham was activated in January, and the club is eager to cash it in this month since they do not want to lose him for free in a year.

Adarabioyo is valued at just £14m by Transfermarkt and he’d be an excellent addition to the Tottenham squad if they could get a deal agreed.
