‘Strange’: Dejan Kulusevski says he found something weird during Tottenham’s game vs Fulham last night
Dejan Kulusevski, a winger for Tottenham Hotspur, acknowledged that he thought the team’s performance against Fulham in the second half was really unusual.
Speaking on the match with The Standard, Kulusevski acknowledged that Ange Postecoglou’s team typically excelled in the second half.
However, the Tottenham manager felt it was important to criticize his team because of the team’s late ball retention.
Kulusevski reflected on this and remarked, “Of course, we felt it when we were playing.
It was a little unusual because we usually play our best in the second half, but we simply need to bounce back and improve our ball retention.
We lost too many simple balls during the attack, which is possible. Because we are only human, we need to put that aside and concentrate on Friday.
Kulusevski did, of course, have a little bit of a rough night for Tottenham in terms of his decision-making against Fulham.
Although the Swedish winger was doing an excellent job, he frequently seemed to make the wrong decision in front of goal.
However, given the fairly muted role he’s played this year, the 23-year-old isn’t exactly deserving of any criticism.
Kulusevski admitted that Tottenham did tail off against Fulham
Guglielmo Vicario is another player who, arguably, hasn’t received all the praise he deserves so far.The goalie was essential in preventing Tottenham from suffering for their lack of focus against Fulham.
And Ange Postecoglou did feel the need to give his “outstanding” goalie some praise.
Right now, it appears crucial for Spurs that when one element of their teams falters, another one rises up.
Following Yves Bissouma’s dismissal against Luton, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven’s rear guard play took center stage.
And Vicario had his chance to shine last night.
While Kulusevski has some reason for concern with Tottenham’s performance against Fulham in the second half, Ange is unlikely to allow this team to falter.
