Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is a big admirer of Brighton’s ‘dribbling sensation’ Kaou Mitoma, according to Daily Mail.

The Japanese international impressed with his performances for the Seagulls last season, which played a crucial role in their qualification for Europe.

Mitoma showcased his skills by scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists, ie.18 goal contributions in 41 appearances for Brighton across all competitions.

Operating from the left flank, he consistently troubled opposition defenders and proved to be a constant threat throughout the season.

Unsurprisingly, Mitoma’s performances have caught the attention of other clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.

The North London club, currently undergoing a summer rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou, have already secured the signings of Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, and James Maddison.

Mitoma would no doubt he a quality signing for Spurs. However, the report merely suggests that Postecoglou admires the player at this stage.

Mitoma joined Brighton from Kawasaki Front in 2021 for a fee of just €3 million and spent a season in the Belgian League with Union SG, where he contributed 12 goals and assists in 29 appearances.

His value has risen up to £35m now as per Fabrizio Romano.

While it is still early to determine his future, it appears unlikely that the player will leave Brighton this season.

Nonetheless, should Tottenham pursue the talented winger, it could prove to be a significant coup for the club and bolster their attacking options.

Tottenham’s next signing however is set to be a centre-back as revealed by Fabrizio Romano with the likes of Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba the two players strongly linked, the latter being the priority as per the Italian transfer expert.
