Six free agents West Ham could still sign alongside Lingard before submitting squad
The next six free agents Before presenting their roster to the Premier League, West Ham could still add players to join Jesse Lingard.
There are always a handful of players who are out of contract and looking for a new club when a transfer window closes.
West Ham is fully aware of this as they are now considering signing one of them, Jesse Lingard.The manager’s most recent statement regarding the Lingard situation is available here.
A decision must be made soon since the Premier League typically requires West Ham and its top-flight opponents to submit their final 25-man rosters within a week to ten days after the summer transfer window’s close.
The Hammers failed to add to their outstanding four acquisitions on deadline day. Lingard may be the sixth.

But as fans who have watched the transfer market are aware, West Ham still has room in the roster for one more foreign-born player.
So let’s look at who is available, even if it is quite doubtful that David Moyes will consider any other free agents besides Lingard.

But we’ve identified the top six free agents who, in our opinion, would be realistic and/or worth a look for the Hammers if Moyes was pressed for time and needed to add one more player before turning in the team sheet.
Axel Tuanzebe
Axel Tuanzebe, who was only 25 years old, undoubtedly had much more to offer in a career that once held immense promise. The former Manchester United defender has in fact before been connected to West Ham.
The former England Under 21 international is now without a club following loan stints at Aston Villa, Napoli, and Stoke. He has dealt with injury issues, so it could be worth considering a contract that only paid him when he was healthy and available for selection.
Tuanzebe has played as a holding midfielder and a right back in addition to his regular position at center defense, making him a useful asset for the Hammers. Tuanzebe is also considered a homegrown player because he graduated from the Man United academy.
Roberto Pereyra
Now, West Ham has a lot of options for midfielders. However, brilliant ex-Watford and Juventus player Roberto Pereyra is currently jobless after his contract with Serie A outfit Udinese expired.
The 32-year-old Uruguayan is an excellent ball player. He is also an expert in set pieces. Even if he was only played in cup games and a handful of European contests, he might serve as an excellent backup for players like Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse.
Xeka
Xeka, a former Under-20 international for Portugal, is another player who should still have several productive years in front of him. He signed a one-year contract with Rennes last year, but after only eight games, he was let go.
Xeka was a young player Valencia had on their roster and would serve just as a backup. He would be a hazardous choice, it must be stated, as he is recovering from ankle surgery. On a pay-as-you-go basis, though, there are worse options available. The majority of Hammers supporters, however, would understandably want to see one of the club’s promising academy players have a shot.
Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard is without a doubt the most prominent name on the list of free agents, and he has actually been associated with West Ham in the past.
Given that his attitude and lack of effort have been highlighted as the reasons behind his fall from glory, it is evidently an extremely unlikely Moyes signing.
The 32-year-old was released by Real Madrid, and there were rumors that he could retire.
However, according to sources, Celtic as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia and the MLS are interested in signing the man who was once regarded as one of the best players in the world.
Stefano Okaka
Before the summer transfer window closed, West Ham made a last-ditch effort to acquire a striker. Nevertheless, Moyes will believe that his roster includes possibilities in Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, and, if Lingard joins, Lingard.

He should still have some of his best years ahead of him at the age of 27. Morelos, who has scored 176 goals in 356 career games for Rangers, is the club’s all-time highest scorer in Europe. He still possesses that speed and strength. Additionally, Morelos has a remarkable work ethic when motivated, never giving defenders like Antonio a moment’s peace.
Additionally, he is almost seven years Antonio’s junior. He’s been strongly connected with a move to Santos, so West Ham would have to react quickly.
