Joe Rodon, who is currently enjoying a great time on loan at Leeds United in the Championship, is about to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs need to make a lot of choices before 2024. Their top goal will be the January transfer window, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they had begun making plans for the upcoming summer already. In one of the following two windows, Rodon’s long-term Tottenham future is anticipated to be determined.
Tottenham are ready to sell Joe Rodon for £20m
In October 2020, while Jose Mourinho was still coach at Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur signed Joe Rodon.
The Welshman was highly anticipated when he joined Spurs, but for whatever reason, things haven’t worked out for him. In his tenure with the North Londoners, he has only made 24 appearances on the field.
Since being loaned to Leeds United for a season-long loan in the summer, Rodon’s circumstances have changed. Given his recent stellar play, there’s a significant chance he might contribute to the Whites’ return to the Premier League.
Then, one would wonder what would happen to Rodon. The 26-year-old’s loan period ends in the summer, and Leeds will probably want to sign him permanently if they decide to reopen negotiations.
The most recent information on the matter was provided by TeamTalk, who also disclosed that Tottenham is in no way opposed to the notion of selling Rodon in 2024.
Spurs, meanwhile, are seeking a sum of money close to £20 million to release him.
Rodon is a ‘terrific’ player
Joe Rodon has always had a lot of promise, so it’s unfortunate that his time at Tottenham Hotspur has not gone as planned.
The good news for him, though, is that he is already settling in at Leeds United. This week, Ben Davies, a standout for Spurs and his international teammate, showered him with admiration.
After a challenging few years, the Tottenham full-back called Rodon a “terrific” player and stated that he had found a home at Elland Road (Wales Online).
Since signing Rodon, Leeds manager Daniel Farke has also been amazed by the player, calling his performances “brilliant” and praising his “unbelievable pace.”
