Report: Spurs set to make bid for 23-year-old player who Brighton can’t afford, ‘strong chance’ he leaves

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently considering a late bid for Conor Gallagher, with a’strong probability’ he’ll depart Stamford Bridge before the deadline tomorrow.

The Guardian reports that Brighton are also interested in Gallagher but are unlikely to be able to pay him.

Spurs are ready for a hectic finale to the transfer window as they look to cut a bloated team while boosting Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is one player who could still go, with Atletico Madrid reopening talks to sign the Dane before the transfer deadline.

Should Hojbjerg leave, Conor Gallagher has been widely linked with a move to Tottenham.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs are considering a move to sign the Englishman as Chelsea close in on the signing of Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

According to a new rumor, Spurs are set to make a move for Gallagher.

‘Strong chance’ Gallagher leaves Chelsea

According to the Guardian, Tottenham are planning a late move to sign Gallagher from rival Bayern Munich.

Gallagher is said to have a’strong possibility’ of leaving Chelsea before the deadline tomorrow.

Thomas Tuchel is thought to be interested in signing the 23-year-old, but the Blues will not loan him out.Brighton are also interested in the midfielder, although they are ‘unlikely to be able to afford him’.

Gallagher guided Chelsea to a 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the first round of the League Cup Friday night.

It would be surprising to see the midfielder leave after playing consistently under Mauricio Pochettino this season.

However, the Blues are close to acquiring Palmer, who is anticipated to play out wide or in the No10 position.

Pochettino has also signed Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia this month, leaving Gallagher’s position in the team uncertain.

Gallagher, with his tireless work rate and skill in the box, appears to be a natural fit for Postecoglou’s Tottenham side.

He was a standout for Crystal Palace during the 2021-22 season, but he has struggled for playing time since returning to Chelsea.
