Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly tabled an offer to sign Chelsea star Conor Gallagher after completing a deal for Brennan Johnson.

Spurs have been extensively linked with a move for the 23-year-old England midfielder in recent days, and according to GiveMeSport, Ange Postecoglou’s side have just submitted their first bid to land him.

Tottenham and Chelsea rarely conduct business together in the transfer market, but that could change in the next few hours.

Spurs have had a successful deadline day so far, with sources claiming that Brennan Johnson is on his way to North London to finalise his deal.

That would be a terrific way for Tottenham to cap off a successful transfer window, but it would be even better if they signed one more player.

Conor Gallagher might be that man, according to reports, and Spurs have made a £40 million approach to recruit the midfielder from Chelsea.

According to reports, Daniel Levy structured the agreement so that £35 million of the above amount will be paid up front, with the remaining £5 million payable in prospective add-ons.

According to the source, Chelsea wants more money and will turn down this offer.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs will make another approach for the ‘unreal’ Blues midfielder before the transfer market closes tonight.

The transfer insider told X that, under the existing circumstances, “the deal will not happen.” It’s not enough to persuade Spurs.”

According to the Daily Mail, Atletico Madrid has made a bid for Hojbjerg. Specifically, a loan with a purchase commitment.

Obviously, things change quickly on transfer deadline day, and an update from one hour can be utterly out of date by the next.

Let’s wait and watch what occurs in the coming hours. But one thing is certain: many clubs appear to be interested in Hojbjerg. He appears to be extremely likely to move.

There have also been linked to Fulham, though the Dane is said to have turned down a move to the West London club.

Hojbjerg joined Tottenham from Southampton three years ago. He has appeared in 148 games for the club.

However, he does not appear to be part of Ange Postecoglou’s initial intentions. He has yet to appear in any of Tottenham’s three Premier League games this season.
