‘Really busy’: Fabrizio Romano explains what will happen at Leeds in the next week
Romano provided the update on Leeds’ business to Give Me Sport, where he also claimed Wilfried Gnonto could play a major part in the Whites’ summer transfer window.
Leeds completed their first signing of the Daniel Farke era on Wednesday as Ethan Ampadu joined on a four-year-deal from Chelsea for a fee of £7 million + add-ons.
Ampadu’s arrival is hopefully the start of a major summer of incomings at Leeds as they look to overhaul the squad following relegation from the Premier League in May.
With San Francisco 49ers Enterprises’ takeover having been ratified on Monday, Leeds no longer have any obstacles in their path to make signings.
Romano says Leeds will be ‘really busy’ in the next week
Nick Hammond and co will hopefully have been putting the ducks in line for Leeds to move quickly in the market over the coming days.
Romano says Leeds are on the hunt for players across several positions and is backing the Whites to have a busy week.
He said: “Leeds will look for players in different positions. So, I think they will be really busy in the next week. It’s also important to see how the conversation with Everton will go for Wilfried Gnonto because Everton have approached Leeds.
“At the moment, Leeds are not happy with their proposal. Gnonto will be a crucial part of the transfer window for Leeds this summer.”
The Italian transfer guru also exclusively broke news of Leeds’ interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut on Wednesday evening, which could be a sign the wheels are in motion on several targets.
Michut is a highly rated young midfielder who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, though Romano states Leeds are just one of several clubs keen
