‘Powerful’ striker Spurs reportedly want to sign now ranked as better player than Cristiano Ronaldo this season

Serhou Guirassy, a target for Tottenham Hotspur, is currently rated as the eighth-best player in the world this season, surpassing both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Following Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich in the summer, Spurs decided against bringing in a pure striker to take his position. In one of the upcoming two transfer windows, that is anticipated to alter, and Guirassy has received significant attention.

Tottenham is the most recent team to be mentioned in connection with Serhou Guirassy’s potential transfer to the Premier League.

This season, the ‘strong’ 27-year-old has dominated for Stuttgart in Germany.

For a player playing for a team that placed 16th last season, he has scored 14 goals and given two assists in only eight appearances.

The extraordinary performances of Guirassy have now been acknowledged. The Guinean international is ranked eighth in 90min’s list of the 20 best footballers in the world for 2023–2024, just one spot below Kane.

James Maddison, Lionel Messi, and Son Heung-min are ranked 11, 15, and 17, respectively, while Cristiano Ronaldo is ranked tenth.

Spurs want to sign Guirassy

On GiveMeSport last week, journalist Dean Jones revealed that Tottenham might be interested in signing Serhou Guirassy in 2024.

So far this season, Son Heung-min or Richarlison have both been used up front by Spurs. They have benefited greatly from the South Korean, who is one of the main factors in their dominance in the Premier League standings.

Although Son is excellent, he is not a true striker, thus Spurs will need to spend money on a top-notch number nine in one of the upcoming two transfer windows. Based on his performance this year, Guirassy is an intriguing alternative.

It is unclear, though, whether Daniel Levy would be open to signing a player who will turn 28 in March.
