Kevin Muscat has been predicted by Ange Postecoglou to be the next major managerial import to the Premier League.

Since 2021, Muscat has served as the manager of Japanese J1-League team Yokohama F. Marinos.

The 50-year-old, who was previously known as “the dirtiest footballer ever,” had a successful 19-year playing career that included stops in Scotland and England.

Muscat played for Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Millwall despite only spending one season with Rangers in the SPL.

He spent a large portion of his career provoking a variety of famous people, such as former Newcastle and Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy, French World Cup victor Christophe Dugarry, and Arsenal icon Ian Wright.

A coincidental eight-week suspension for a violent tackle on Adrian Zahra in the Melbourne derby in 2011 coincidentally brought an end to his career with Melbourne Victory.

The former tough-tackling defender is preparing for a comeback to the Premier League, but this time in the managerial position, according to Tottenham manager Postecoglou.

Similar to Postecoglou, Muscat has earned an unlikely reputation for playing elegant, free-flowing football.

“Kevin’s a good man and he’s doing very well in Japan,” Postecoglou said on talkSPORT. He’ll be another one that comes through, so keep an eye out for him.

He’ll be yet another Australian who comes here and lowers some barriers.

Australian managers now have more opportunities to manage in one of Europe’s top five leagues thanks to Postecoglou.

When Patrick Kisnorbo took over at French club Troyes last season, he became the first person to accomplish that achievement.

Sadly, the former defender for Leicester and Leeds was unable to retain Troyes in the Premier League; as a result, his team is currently ranked tenth in Ligue 2.

Trevoh Chalobah was informed he might not feature for Chelsea this year, and Tottenham Hotspur may make a new offer for the defender in the January transfer window.

According to a report from Football London, the 24-year-old is in danger of being kicked out of the Stamford Bridge first team after turning down a transfer on deadline day.

After a hectic final few hours of the window, Trevoh Chalobah is still with Chelsea. According to Football London, the Blues’ £50 million asking price prevented a transfer to Bayern Munich from happening. Chalobah later declined the opportunity to join Nottingham Forest.

It currently appears that Chalobah will not be included in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans anytime soon. In fact, according to Football London, he has been informed that there is a possibility he won’t play for Chelsea again this year.

Tottenham could make move for Chalobah in January

In January, Chelsea wants to offload Chalobah. Tottenham, who have long admired him, may try to make a bid for him in the upcoming winter, according to Football London.

On deadline day, Spurs were unable to sign another center-back. The opportunity to bolster their midfield ranks as the clock ran out was also lost on them.

Therefore, Ange Postecoglou’s team may find January to be a busy time. Chalobah could undoubtedly play as a center defender or farther forward.

It certainly seem like the asking price is a little high. He is a gifted athlete. But the fact that Chelsea is preparing to not utilize him at all this campaign may mean something.

If Tottenham does make a move, this may give them hope that a solution can be found. But they will also be conscious that by the time the January transfer window begins, a lot could have changed.
