Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared what he’s heard on Tottenham Hotspur’s potential move to re-sign defender Clement Lenglet.

How good is Clement Lenglet?

Lenglet established himself as a skilled ball-playing center defender during his 26 league appearances for Spurs last season, with a cool 87.5% passing accuracy out from the back (WhoScored).

Hugo Lloris, their goalkeeper, described Lenglet as a “high level” player and as “very strong” in one-on-one scenarios after they signed the former Sevilla star on loan last summer.

“He’s a modern defender,” Lloris stated.

Being able to play from the back is comfortable. He can be very strong in one on one situations, has a tremendous left foot, and is strong in the air.

Even though transitioning to the Premier League is never simple and he will need to get used to the intensity of the games, he is an accomplished player with years of experience.
