NEW SUPERB FORWARD: Sky Sports report that sensational forward imminently joining at Elland Road
Leeds: Whites considering move for Joseph Paintsil
The management at Elland Road has made the Genk forward a significant summer goal.
Joseph Paintsil of Genk is a forward whom Leeds United is thinking about signing this summer. Recent sources have revealed how much it will cost to bring him to the Championship.
Who is Joseph Paintsil?
Paintsil, a natural right-winger who joined the Cegeka Arena in 2018 after leaving Tema Youth, has developed into a regular member of Wouter Vrancken’s first team throughout his five years with the club and has made 143 appearances.
The Ghanaian’s contract with the Belgian Pro League team has three more years left, but after he emerged as the club’s second-best attacking performer last season, he has been mentioned as a player Daniel Farke wants at Elland Road.
The manager will need to go shopping to bolster his wide areas because Wilfried Gnonto has returned to training but Jack Harrison has already finished a season-long loan to Everton. If the upcoming update is to be believed, the 25-year-old could be the ideal candidate.
Are Leeds signing Joseph Paintsil?
Leeds are “interested” in hiring Paintsil before September 1st, according to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre.
Genk would reportedly “consider” hearing offers around €10 million (£8.5 million), but the forward is only “one of a number of forwards” who the 49ers are interested at luring to Yorkshire. Joel Piroe of Swansea City is one of those potential recruits.
According to reputable journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Southampton had discussions about a swap deal for Farke’s target. However, since no agreement could be reached on the south coast, this may present chiefs with the ideal opportunity to step in and steal the move from under the noses of their second-tier rivals.
How many goals has Joseph Paintsil scored?
Paintsil’s impressive 28 goal contributions (14 goals and the same number of assists) in 30 appearances for Genk in the Belgian Pro League last season demonstrate just how productive he can be in the final third, so should the hierarchy be able to persuade him to join, it could be a huge coup for Leeds.
The CAA Stellar client also received an impressive eight WhoScored man-of-the-match accolades for his performance during the previous season, when he tallied 63 shots overall, the most of any of his colleagues, according to FBRef.

The Acca native has been named a “superb” player by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, and given how much of a difference-maker he is, he deserves all the praise he receives. He is versatile enough to play in seven different positions throughout the field.
Piroe allegedly has a lot of attention from other teams this summer, but the Whites are supposedly still in the running to sign him. If Paintsil’s pursuit progresses, though, the two players may end up at LS11 together.
