Paris Basketball head coach Tuomas Iisalo is leaving Europe for the NBA, sources tell BasketNews.

The 41-year-old Finnish specialist secured a top assistant coach position with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources tell BasketNews.

Iisalo, who is set to join the Grizzlies on a three-year contract, is poised to have a legitimate chance to become an NBA head coach in the future, sources tell BasketNews.

Iisalo will also be the Grizzlies head coach during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Iisalo guided Paris Basketball to victory in the 2023-24 EuroCup season and led them to the French league finals.

He was set to make his EuroLeague debut next season and has been recognized as one of the best up-and-coming coaches in top-level European basketball.
