National media make bold Tottenham title prediction after Arsenal draw

News of Tottenham’s tie with Arsenal makes most observers even more favorable toward Ange Postecoglou’s team, and talk of the championship persists.

The most predictable 2-2 tie there has ever been, in my opinion. It might be the ideal outcome for a game like this.

Arsenal and Tottenham both exited the Emirates Stadium feeling both relieved and frustrated about not losing but also about not winning more. After all, this is a risk-and-reward game, and Spurs most definitely brought their offensive to the table.Ange Postecoglou went for it after 30 minutes when the score was 1-0, in contrast to the Antonio Conte teams that frequently set up to hang out for as long as possible without surrendering.

The manager himself talked and forecasted this in a way that inspired individuals who have unpleasant recollections of games played at this very stadium over the years. This alone is refreshing behavior. Postecoglou, as is currently the case, had the actions to support his words.

Spurs are a far cry from where they were only four months ago, and their manager is the darling of the neutrals in the top division. The general response to the game has also reflected this. Here are some of the comments made by the media.

Who have they defeated, asks David Haynter? Aside from Manchester United, there are three teams in the bottom four. Tottenham had heard the excuses offered for their outstanding start under Ange Postecoglou, their best season-opening performance in 58 years.

“A derby against their neighbors at whose stadium they never seem to win would be the ultimate test, a better indicator of where they stood. After an exciting competition, we discovered that they appear to be a serious contender.

“Postecoglou’s team failed to secure what would have been just the second Premier League victory on hostile territory in 31 tries. However, the manager was more interested in seeing individuality than compliance with their playing style from his team. I’m sure he understood that.

According to Mark Whiley, “Arsenal had great success in the first half when Destiny Udogie, who received an early booking, was worn out, exploiting Tottenham’s left.” That’s how the first goal was scored; Saka sprinted forward before Romero chopped his looping shot into his own net.

“In his defense, youthful Brennan Johnson, who was substituted in for Udogie by Ange Postecoglou, provided little assistance. However, Arsenal didn’t take advantage of it nearly enough as Tottenham gained momentum and confidence.

“On the whole, it has to be viewed as a hugely encouraging result and performance by Postecoglou’s new-look team, who demonstrated their strength of character to twice equalize through Heung-min Son after Arsenal took the lead through Cristian Romero’s own goal and then a Bukayo Saka penalty,” writes Dan Kilpatrick.

Postecoglou had declared that his team’s performance would ultimately matter more than the result, and he exhorted his players to show bravery and “measure” themselves against their opponents by adhering to his high-risk, offensive strategy.

Therefore, despite a few tense moments in the first half, the visitors continued to play out from the back and kept trying to pass through an Arsenal team that is four years further advanced in their development. This will have really pleased him.

They “went toe-to-toe with the runners-up from the previous season, indicating that their quick start under Postecoglou has not been down to merely average opponents and that they will be genuine contenders for a top-four place – or perhaps more.”
