Leeds United have been eyeing a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this summer and now a significant update has emerged regarding his future.

Do Leeds want to sign Glen Kamara?

The 27-year-old has been a true pillar for the Gers in the middle of the park over the years, contributing consistently and having a significant impact for a considerable amount of time. He has played in 193 games overall and was a member of the Steven Gerrard-led squad that won the Scottish Premiership in 2020–21.

While still at the top of his game, Kamara may feel that he has advanced as far as he can in a Rangers uniform rather than seeking for a new challenge. Before the summer transfer market closes on Friday night, Leeds may be in need of a new midfielder, and the Rangers player has reportedly emerged as a top target.

Time is running short for the Whites to sign their man, but a recent development indicates that they are now making a serious effort to close a deal as soon as possible to support their Championship promotion campaign.

Have Leeds bid for Glen Kamara?

Famous writer Fabrizio Romano gave a significant update on Kamara’s future on Twitter by stating that Leeds has now formally filed a bid for his services:

“Leeds United has officially offered Glen Kamara to the club. Rangers and the negotiations are now in their final stages. Deal is anticipated to close next week, and the player has already accepted.”

This is a tremendous win for Leeds since Kamara has the capacity to arrive and have a significant impact, improving their midfield in the process. His ability to cover territory and keep possession, as well as the fact that he completed an astounding 97.5% of his passes in the 126 minutes of Champions League action last season, give the Whites a much-needed boost.

The hope is that Joseph Paintsil and Nadiem Amiri, who are expected to complete deals for the two players this week, will join the squad and have an impact similar to that of Joel Piroe, who joins from Swansea City as a significant signing in attack.
