Auburn’s Ryan Bliss gets called up by the Seattle Mariners

Former Auburn All-American Ryan Bliss got called up by the Seattle Mariners and made his Major League debut against the Houston Astros. Bliss has become the 59th Big Leaguer to come out of the Auburn Program and the eighth since 2020.

During his time at Auburn he was a three-year starter from 2019-21 and is one of four two-time All-Americans in program history.

Throughout his career as a Tiger he played and started in all but two games and owned a .328 average with 176 hits in 134 games. During two of his three seasons on the Plains he led the team in hits and runs and was also a two-time All-SEC Honoree.

Bliss originally from LaGrange, Georgia was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks as the 42nd overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft which made him the fifth highest position player drafted in program history.

Over the course of four Minor League Baseball Seasons in 327 games in both the Diamondbacks and the Mariners Organizations Bliss owns a .262 average with 239 runs, 72 doubles, 15 triples, 46 homers 182 RBI and 127 stolen bases. Last year Bliss became the fifth MiLB player in the last 40 years with 20 or more home runs and 50 or more stolen bases in a single season.
