Son Heung-min playing down the middle for Tottenham Hotspur is something Ian Wright likes the sound of.

The all-action forward has scored against Arsenal and Liverpool in back-to-back games by racing across the penalty box like a red arrow and tapping in nearly identical goals.

Son Heung-min was deployed on the left when Harry Kane was playing for Tottenham, so he had that central position covered.

Wright told Premier League Productions (02/10/23 at 2:20 pm) that the South Korean star can’score lots of goals’ as a centre forward instead of the flanks although admitting that his ‘dribbling’ and ‘pace’ prevent him from playing there.

And given that Ange Postecoglou wants his forward players to press hard and dart around like air is being released from a balloon, Son Heung-min is the perfect fit for this, with Wright supporting him to go off.

Wright opined, “I think Son playing down the middle is brilliant for them because Richarlison can easily do that (play on the left),”

“So, regarding being within the box. We are aware that his dribbling and pace are missed. But I believe he will score a lot of goals this season for a low-touch striker who finishes so clinically.

Because the 31-year-old has done it before, why not? One may contend that the £22 million star (FourFourTwo) now has a better chance than ever.

There are more goals available now that Kane is gone.
