Magnificient Ace: Tottenham and Ange may move to make signing after extensive scouting: Alasdair Gold
Tottenham Hotspur have Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo “high” on their list of targets for the summer, according to journalist Alasdair Gold.
Which defenders are Tottenham signing?
Adarabioyo is one of Tottenham’s top defense targets for this transfer window, according to a recent post from Gold on Twitter, who stated:
After thorough scouting last season, Tosin Adarabioyo is still at the top of Spurs’ list of potential center defense moves this summer.
The Bundesliga duo Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven are also reportedly on Spurs’ list of objectives, according to Gold’s story for Football London, so the Fulham defender is not their only possible target.
The Lilywhites are in the process of overhauling their defense in preparation for the upcoming campaign, and negotiations to sign Tapsoba—whom Gold has previously identified as the team’s “main target”—are now in progress.
Van de Ven, a Dutch center-back who is anticipated to leave Wolfsburg this summer, is still a possibility if Tottenham are unable to secure a deal for Tapsoba.
Adarabioyo checks many boxes, according to Gold in the aforementioned Football London article, as he is a homegrown player and his contract is slated to expire at the end of the upcoming season, making him potentially marketable for a cut-rate price.
The defender, who earns £37k a week, was excellent last season, making him a strong candidate for Ange Postecoglou’s defense. However, Spurs will need to fend off interest from other teams, including Inter Milan and AS Monaco.
Is Tosin Adarabioyo leaving Fulham?
It wouldn’t be surprising if the center defender moved on this summer given the interest from some of the best clubs in Europe; yet, some of his performances during the 2022–23 season suggest he would make a good addition to Tottenham.
The Englishman, who was once described as “magnificent” by former Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray, has already begun to establish himself in the Premier League after averaging 5.5 clearances per game last season, the most in the Fulham side.
The former Blackburn player put in a very strong performance in a 1-0 loss at Liverpool, earning a match rating of over 7.0 in eight of his final 10 games for Fulham last season. He made eight clearances and one interception.
Adarabioyo had a fantastic finish to the 2022–23 season, and he might now be prepared to move to Tottenham to advance his career.
