Lens brutally mock Arsenal with Tottenham dig after Champions League flop

After losing on the road in France, Arsenal’s comeback to the Champions League hasn’t gone as planned as a fan of RC Lens mocks them with a blatant Tottenham dig.

Following their Champions League match, a fan of RC Lens was seen in the stands savagely insulting Arsenal supporters while making a blatant jab at Tottenham. In their second group stage match, the French team welcomed the Gunners in the hopes of pulling off an upset and taking first place in the standings.

But after Gabriel Jesus’ goal in the first 15 minutes, the north London team appeared to destroy any dreams of the home supporters. Though Lens fought back, Adrien Thomasson capped off a play that pounced on a slip-up by David Raya.

Elye Wahi finished off a nice play to give his team the lead halfway through the second half as the home team was starting to gain control of the match. They were able to finish the game, defeating the English team by a score of 3-0, and moved ahead of them in the standings.

It is a major setback for Arsenal and their chances of moving on to the following round, which is when the knockout tournament really starts. Even while there is still much to be done before it is finished, it did allow some competitors to take their time and privately revel in the loss.

One Lens fan was caught on camera arguing with the Arsenal away fans while pointing at an image of the Tottenham emblem on his phone. Social media reacted to it quite a deal, with many Spurs supporters vowing their allegiance to Lens as a result of it and the outcome.

Even if it’s funny, the Lilywhites’ only option right now is to sit and watch the Conference League, Europa League, and Champions League play out. They will have expectations that they will participate in one of the tournaments again the following season in addition to seeing their competitors eliminated from the current ones.

Being second in the Premier League at the moment, Ange Postecoglou is undoubtedly progressing in that direction. However, there is still a ton of work to be done to get there.
