Journalist says two centre-backs are now above Tapsoba on Spurs wishlist

According to The Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Tottenham might have settled on Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven as their two main centre-back targets.

Over the last month, multiple outlets have reported that Van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba are Tottenham’s two top targets for the left centre-back role (GiveMeSport), with several sources suggesting that the Leverkusen star is the North London club’s top preference (Fabrizio Romano).

Tosin Adarabioyo on the ball for Fulham

However, it appears that Adarabioyo is the player that Spurs are set to move for first with Alasdair Gold stating a couple of days ago there is now a ‘growing expectation’ that the Lilywhites would submit an offer for the Fuhman man (Football.London).

Gold added that the former England Under-21 international is keen on making a move to N17 even though other clubs are also interested in his services.

Unfortunately, it appears Tottenham have competition from Monaco, and Adarabioyo actually prefers a move to the Ligue 1 outfit (FootMercato).

Tosin and Van de Ven above Tapsoba on Spurs list

Taylor has now suggested that the fact the 25-year-old’s homegrown status particularly appeals to Spurs, and he remarked that Van de Ven could follow the Fulham star through the door at Hotspur Way.

The journalist told GiveMeSport about Tottenham’s centre-back pursuit: “There’s strong interest in Tosin, the Fulham centre-back who was left out of the squad to face Brentford in Philadelphia.

“I think he’s a player that ticks the homegrown quota, he’s admired by Spurs and it looks like he can leave Fulham this summer, as he’s only got one year left on his deal. So I think they’re the two that will probably be the priority, Micky van de Ven and Adarabioyo.”

Adarabioyo ticks plenty of boxes for Postecoglou and Tottenham, and it does appear as if the club have settled on him as their top target for the right centre-back role.

If that is the case, I can see why Spurs might prefer Van de Ven over Tapsoba, as the Leverkusen star’s profile is quite similar to that of Adarabioyo
