Ivan Toney, a Brentford player, is a target for Chelsea and Tottenham ahead of the January transfer window, with Arsenal and Liverpool maybe interested as well.

Ivan Toney has kept up his conditioning in preparation for his comeback to football in 2019. His suspension for breaking the betting laws is set to expire in January. After being indicted in November of last year, the Brentford striker was found guilty of 232 betting offenses, and his eight-month suspension started in May.

The Bees are unbeaten after four games despite the 27-year-old not playing for them this year, and Bryan Mbuemo, who has four goals in the opening few weeks, is doing a good job of carrying the team’s talisman role. A number of Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Toney during the upcoming winter transfer window, so it’s feasible that he may need to keep doing that.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been mentioned by Toney as options, and Chelsea and Tottenham are both looking for a natural striker. All of this information was revealed in Toney’s August interview on the Diary of a CEO YouTube podcast.

When questioned about the Brentford leave rumors, he responded, “I don’t let this all affect me. “Of course, it will continue in the background, but my responsibility is to continue training effectively whenever I have the chance. Keep scoring and performing well in the games, but I believe that everyone wants to play at the top of the tree.

“I believe like playing for a major club, competing for trophies, and these kinds of things, are things that everyone wants to do, not that Brentford aren’t there. I believe it would be foolish of me to ignore it if the opportunity arose.

He continued, “Yeah, I’ve been a Liverpool fan my whole life, but I’ve admired Arsenal from the time I was a little kid. I enjoy watching Arsenal because of the way they play and the intensity with which their supporters support them.

Toney has been quite open about his activities off the field, perhaps in the knowledge that some teams will be monitoring. He shared a number of images earlier this week documenting a strenuous workout, and he has since posted a number of images on his Instagram story documenting shooting drills.

On January 14, Toney’s suspension will expire formally, and if leaving Brentford is his goal, he can then begin negotiating a trade. Despite undergoing rigorous private training sessions, it might not be until February before football fans see Toney back in action in a competitive setting. His level of fitness and match acuity are probably lower than those of players who will have played five months of the 2023–24 season.
