Postecoglou says Kane ‘not fazed’ by noise amid Bayern interest in Spurs striker

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou will not be too concerned with results at this stage of pre-season after suffering defeat in his first game in charge against West Ham, especially as there were more positives to take away than negatives. Spurs fell to a 3-2 defeat against David Moyes’ side in Australia during their pre-season tour, with goals coming from two unlikely sources to give Postecoglou some hope of resurrecting careers at the club.

But Postecoglou’s team-talk at the interval must have worked wonders as his side raced out of the blocks, with Giovani Lo Celso halving the deficit before full-back Destiny Udogie pulled them level. Gianluca Scamacca then found the winner in the second half to give the east London side the bragging rights.

But Postecoglou would have been encouraged by some performances, in particular from Lo Celso and Udogie, as he runs the rule over his squad for the upcoming season. Lo Celso, once a £52million buy from Real Betis after impressing on loan, spent last season with Villarreal and looked certain to depart
