Could Brice Turang be having the best baserunning season in franchise history?So far this season, Brice Turang has stolen 26 bases and been caught only once.

His baserunning prowess has been a frequent topic of conversation, and it’s not just his prodigious ability to steal bases. Turang has been taking extra bases, getting infield hits, avoiding double plays, everything. It had me wondering: could Turang end up having the best baserunning season in franchise history?

 

To determine that, we need to set the bar, and figure out what the best seasons by a baserunner are in the team’s history. The first way to look at this is purely through stolen bases.

 

The franchise record for steals in a season actually happened in the team’s lone season when they weren’t the Brewers: in 1969, the franchise’s one and only season as the Seattle Pilots, Tommy Harper stole 73 bases in 91 tries.
