Despite a recent injury, Ivan Perisic of Tottenham Hotspur is still anticipated to sign with Hajduk Split during the January transfer window.

Following Tottenham Hotspur’s intention to sign Luka Vuskovic, Ivan Perisic has officially decided to join Hajduk Split.

According to the Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti, a Perisic to Hajduk transfer is still planned.

Tottenham announced a deal to sign Hajduk wonderkid Vuskovic on Monday, completing a significant signing.

Even though Vuskovic won’t be able to join Tottenham until he is 18 in 2025, there is a lot of anticipation for him.

There is a good likelihood that Spurs star Perisic may leave the club, since Tottenham appears to have acquired a potential future star.

Ivan Perisic heading back to Hajduk Split

Earlier this month, Tportal in Croatia stated that Perisic will probably join Hajduk as soon as Vuskovic’s transfer to Tottenham was finalized.

Perisic has been sought after by Hajduk for a time, and they were considering signing him in the summer.

Perisic, a Split native, began his career in the Hajduk youth ranks before rising to fame throughout Europe.

As his career draws to a close, Perisic might make an emotional comeback to Hajduk.

According to Sportske Novosti, Perisic will join Hajduk in January and “everything has been agreed.”

With Tottenham supposedly prepared to let Perisic to join Hajduk on a free transfer, the agreement “just needs to be put on paper.”

Hajduk and Spurs seem to get along well, and since Perisic’s contract expires next summer, he appears to have nowhere to go.

Perisic moving despite injury

Some people had questioned if Perisic’s transfer to Hajduk would be derailed by a possible season-ending injury sustained last week.

Perisic, who Antonio Conte bought last summer, suffered a knee injury in practice and will miss a significant amount of time leading up to Euro 2024.

However, Hajduk doesn’t seem to be concerned and has plans to bring Perisic back despite the injury.

According to Hajduk, Perisic can return in about six months, which would allow him to help Hajduk end their championship drought and win the league.

Perisic may now jump at the chance to make his emotional return back to Croatia before his career ends, which is the desire for Hajduk.

After James Maddison’s knee underwent a scan after the midfielder felt an unsettling “jolt” during Sunday’s North London Derby, Tottenham are awaiting the results.

Maddison appeared to downplay the incident when she spoke after the game: “Yeah, I jolted my knee, Jorginho kicked my knee, and my leg just jolted a little bit. Since I’ve just had a few interviews and haven’t visited the physios yet, I’m about to get it checked out.

Ange Postecoglou, the team’s manager, also made an effort to allay concerns that his number 10 could have to sit out upcoming matches.

“Madders and Sonny weren’t 100% going into the game,” he told football.london, “but they got through it, which suggests that it’s nothing serious.”

On Saturday, Liverpool will travel to Tottenham for what is expected to be their toughest test of the Premier League season thus far.

Spurs are still winless in 2023–24 after their stalemate with Arsenal, and they are currently ranked fourth, two points behind Liverpool.

Another injury concern for Tottenham this weekend is Brennan Johnson. In the draw at Arsenal, the former Nottingham Forest forward was taken off with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
