‘Honestly i am fed up’ – Spurs star opens up on lack of game time under Postecoglou
Insisting that all he can do is be prepared to produce when called upon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has acknowledged that he does not knock on Ange Postecoglou’s door demanding to know why he is not starting.
Postecoglou has shown that he trusts Hojbjerg despite the fact that the Dane has dropped down the pecking order this season due to Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma’s strong starts.
The 28-year-old has been used as a substitute in seven of the Australian’s eight Premier League games so far this season (Transfermarkt), and with Bissouma now sidelined for Monday’s game against Fulham, the former Southampton player is anticipated to start.
Hojbjerg is anticipated to push for a transfer when the transfer market opens in January, according to numerous sources in recent weeks (Alasdair Gold – Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast).

The midfielder has since stated that he is continuing to give it his all and would try to make a good impression on Postecoglou whenever he has the chance.
When asked if he had discussed his limited playing time with the Spurs manager, Hojbjerg responded to Ekstrabladet, “I don’t have that discourse, I must be honest.
“My strategy is to keep the attention on the things I can control. I have to be prepared to assist the group if needed. I therefore take care to train effectively and maintain my course.
“We have a new coaching staff, and we play a different style of football than we did last year. Things function flawlessly. Even though the season has only just begun, we are already in a really strong position and moving forward extremely well.
It therefore involves following along. Although I haven’t played as much as I usually do, it’s something you must accept and take into account as you move forward.
“When I started playing a little more, I no longer required daily visits from someone to give me a pat on the back or point out my mistakes. I don’t always need someone to lead the way.
It doesn’t worry me all that much, then. It’s easy from my perspective. I make an effort to be relevant, but since I’m not in charge of selecting the team, I can only do my part to make things challenging for the coach.
Hojbjerg is the consummate professional and will unquestionably sacrifice everything for the jersey till his last day with the team. Although Bissouma will be sorely missed against Fulham, I am curious to see how the Dane does because we all know how tough he is.
