Harry Kane’s secret transfer meeting amid Kylian Mbappe swap deal proposal

Paris Saint-Germain have already held a transfer meeting over Tottenham captain Harry Kane as they risk selling Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid in this summer window

Last month, Harry Kane’s representatives met with PSG transfer chiefs before Kylian Mbappe revealed he would not renew his contract in the French capital. Kane, 29, is out of contract at Tottenham next summer, and this is the club’s final chance to cash in on him before he becomes free agent. They are likely to reject any bids for their star striker, but the club would prefer to transfer him to team outside of England rather than direct rival.

The England international is on Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s radar this summer, as the club seeks central striker. United are desperate for top-tier central striker, and Ten Hag believes Kane’s contract situation makes deal conceivable.

However, it is increasingly believed that move is unlikely due to Tottenham’s unwillingness to sell to Premier League opponent, preferring to let him depart as free agent at the end of the current season. This summer, Real Madrid sorely needs attacking reinforcements. Karim Benzema confirmed his departure from the Spanish giants last week, while Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz – the latter of whom was Madrid’s only recognized central striker – are all set to leave as free agents this summer. Ancelotti made it clear to club president Florentino Perez and Real Madrid’s general manager Jose Angel Sanchez, who is largely entrusted with closing signings, at major transfer meeting recently that he wanted Kane as his number one target

However, Mbappe’s intentions of leaving the Parc des Princes and not renewing his contract beyond this summer means that PSG will look to sell their striker this summer, rather than risk the possibility of the France international leaving as a free agent next summer.

That would eliminate the possibility of Kane going to the Spanish capital and instead significantly increase PSG’s interest in the striker. The 29-year-old’s entourage met with PSG transfer chief Luis Campos last month, as per Foot Mercato, to hold an informal conversation over his future

PSG are targeting several attacking arrivals this summer with Lionel Messi and Hugo Ekitike having departed, Neymar available for sale and Mbappe’s future now deeply uncertain.
