Harry Kane: Bayern Munich hold key Harry Kane transfer meeting with Daniel Levy to ‘show respect’ in move that could convince stubborn Tottenham chairman to sell

  • Meeting took place in London
  • Bayern keen to ‘show respect’ to Levy
  • Spurs rejected latest bid of £80m

Levy was visited in London by representatives from the German powerhouses, according to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg. While there was no progress made on the acquisition of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, Bayern Munich’s bid is said to be on the right track. The meeting was called after Spurs turned down a second Kane offer of approximately £80 million ($105 million). Bayern appears to be continuing their aggressive pursuit of the England international, though.

The rumored desire of PSG to steal Kane from Bayern seems to have sparked the German champions’ momentum. Kane was made aware of the club’s meeting with Levy, which was all about exhibiting respect for the infamously obstinate Spurs owner, who continues to be adamantly opposed to selling his star striker. With just one year remaining on Kane’s contract, it may become difficult to turn down money if the bids keep increasing, with a third offer from the Bundesliga team reportedly in the works.

Whatever Harry Kane’s future holds, it appears that he will continue to make an eye-watering wage for the upcoming season. Spurs are reportedly planning to offer the England captain a new contract for £400,000 per week in order to secure his future as some of the biggest teams in Europe reportedly swirl around him. With the new contract, Kane would undoubtedly rank among the highest-paid players in the Premier League.

Kane isn’t the only player debating his future at Spurs this summer. The north London club is looking to refresh a squad that under-performed last season, one of their primary transfer targets reportedly being U21 European Championship-winning centre-back Levi Colwill. Meanwhile, new arrivals James Maddison and Manor Solomon are being put through their paces by new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
