‘Exceptional’: Garth Crooks Singles outstanding 25-years- old Tottenham player for Praises vs Burnley

Cristian Romero’s weekend performance for Tottenham Hotspur left Garth Crooks quite impressed.

Romero was praised by Crooks following a “exceptional” goal against Burnley and was included in his BBC Team of the Week.

At Turf Moor, Son Heung-min made headlines by scoring a spectacular hat-trick while leading the line for Spurs.

The 31-year-old, who started in Richarlison’s place up front, put on his greatest performance of the year, scoring a lovely chip to get Tottenham back into the game in the first half.

But Cristian Romero gave Ange Postecoglou’s team the lead going into the break.

After the ball dropped to him favorably on the outskirts of the area, the Argentine fired a thunderous shot that rattled in off the post.Crooks commended the 25-year-old’s effort, and he was impressed.

Crooks lauds ‘exceptional’ Romero

After Romero scored an incredible goal at Turf Moor, Crooks praised Romero in his most recent BBC Sport essay.

In his article, he claimed that Burnley manager Vincent Kompany wakes up each day confident that his club is improving and will adjust to the biggest jump in football history. When is the query I would like to address to him.

“After only losing three games all season in the Championship, Spurs’ 5-2 home loss made it their first three Premier League defeats. Although Kompany obviously has faith in his squad members, he has only till Christmas, if that.

Spurs, on the other hand, appeared to be at ease playing a back four. Though I often don’t select defenders from a team that allows two goals to be scored away from home, I’m willing to make an exception in this case.

“Romero’s goal finish was exceptional for a central defender, which is why he is in my team,” said the coach.

Romero and summer acquisition Micky van de Ven have so far established a strong working relationship, as the pair have already recorded two shutouts this year.

However, it was Tottenham’s offensive prowess that gave them the victory on Saturday, as James Maddison scored his third goal while wearing a Spurs jersey and Son scored three goals.

It’s been a promising start to the campaign for Postecoglou and he seems to have completely transformed this Spurs side already.
