‘Disgrace’: John Terry can’t believe what happened during Chelsea’s win over Tottenham last night
Legendary Chelsea player John Terry was astounded by what he witnessed in the first half of the Blues’ victory over Tottenham.
He expressed his disgust on Twitter at the choice not to dismiss Cristian Romero for his kickout on Levi Colwill in his own half.
The Blues ultimately prevailed 4-1 in a London derby that was absolutely insane, but the scoreline only tells part of the story.
For an hour, Chelsea was playing against ten men; for almost the whole second half, they were up against nine men.
They had a lot of trouble defeating a strong Spurs team that attempted to play high defense and catch the Blues offside.
Nicolas Jackson eventually completed a fast-finishing hat-trick to add to Cole Palmer’s first-half penalty, ending the game and the hosts’ suffering.
Terry calls decision a disgrace
Romero could have been sent off minutes earlier after kicking out at Colwill, even though he was actually sent off in the first half.
Terry quickly expressed his disapproval of the decision on Twitter, calling it a disgrace.
“How is that not a Red Card?” he exclaimed. You can’t just kick someone, that’s a shame!
