‘Didn’t look best pleased’: Alasdair Gold noticed 26-year-old Tottenham player didn’t look happy this weekend

Following Saturday’s 5-2 victory over Burnley by Tottenham Hotspur, Richarlison wasn’t the happiest man at Turf Moor.

Speaking on his YouTube channel following yet another convincing win for Ange Postecoglou’s team, journalist Alasdair Gold.

When Lyle Foster gave the hosts the lead after just four minutes, there may have been some concerns in the opposing end.

Son Heung-min’s equalizer and Cristian Romero’s expertly placed goal just before halftime, though, gave Tottenham control of the match.

In the twenty minutes that followed the interval, Spurs scored three goals to end the game as a contest.

Postecoglou was able to make adjustments as a result and remove Richarlison on the bench.

Tuesday’s match against Fulham marked the first goal the Brazilian had scored since April.

Richarlison’s position in the Tottenham team is now in doubt, therefore he didn’t appear very pleased about not starting against Burnley.

Although Spurs didn’t sign a second senior center-forward in the offseason, it appears that his main rival may have already been on the team.

Richarlison not happy after Tottenham beat Burnley

Gold added of the 26-year-old: “Richardson is perhaps the only player in that small group that was clapping the fans who didn’t look the greatest delighted.

“It may have been very unfortunate; it could just be that the pictures and videos I’ve seen of him were taken at times when he wasn’t grinning, and there were other times when he was grinning and cheering on the audience.

But Richarlison puts his heart on his sleeve, in my opinion.

He is a person who displays his feelings on his face. And I have no doubt that Richarlison was completely, utterly irate that he had scored a goal but was not given the opportunity to start the following game.

“And will have seen one of his teammates, who is also one of his competitors for the center position, go out there and score a hat-trick and be absolutely spectacular in the role.

He would not have been overjoyed, but he will still play plenty of football.

Richarlison will be hoping that his departure from the Tottenham team against Burnley was an isolated incident.

Manor Solomon performed admirably on the wings, though, and Son absolutely cannot be benched after tallying a hat-trick.

Despite being a bit harsh, there have been concerns about Richarlison’s ambition in comparison to Son’s.

Postecoglou starting on the bench shouldn’t have come as a major surprise given his remarks during the Fulham game.
