The Raiders still have not decided on a starting quarterback, something that everyone would like to see sorted out sooner rather than later. On the flip side of that, it’s not a decision you want to rush. There’s no stability in flipping your starting quarterback back and forth during the season, so you better get it right the first time.
The battle between Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew will continue on through OTAs and likely into training camp. The issue is it’s hard to gain that stability and trust other teams will have by that point with established starters, or new starters who aren’t sharing first-team reps. All of which are major reasons why NFL.com’s Kevin Patra tabbed the quarterback dilemma as the biggest remaining offseason priority for the Raiders.
