“can someone tell me why” – O’Hara left shocked with what Ange did during win vs Liverpool
Jamie O’Hara, a former Tottenham midfielder who is now a commentator, has acknowledged that Ange Postecoglou’s choice to substitute Son during the game against Liverpool perplexed him.
In a thrilling match last night, Tottenham defeated Liverpool 2-1.
In the first half of the game, Liverpool was down a man and a goal, but Spurs had luck on their side thanks to a terrible VAR error that went in their favor.
Despite being onside, VAR disallowed a goal that Luis Diaz had scored that was valid.
Then, in the final seconds of the first half, Gakpo scored for Liverpool to tie the score.
However, Spurs prevailed as Joel Matip’s own goal in the 96th minute gave the North London team the victory.
Jamie O’Hara expressed disbelief at Ange’s decision to remove Son in the 69th minute during the game.
He wrote on X, ”
“I’m watching the game on air; could someone please explain why Son took off?” Undoubtedly, this is his chance.
Ange Postecoglou then said that he removed the South Korean star because of his physical condition.
The Australian claimed that the captain of Tottenham would never play the entire match.
Through Football London, he stated:
“Look, he wasn’t completely healthy, but when we spoke yesterday, he was eager to play. He promised to donate what he could, and he actually did.
He was never going to play the full 90 minutes; we were only ever going to give him an hour or so, but he once again took the initiative and was the one pressing.
