Leeds United change on the cards as Wilfried Gnonto news emerges
The decision to recall Wilfried Gnonto to training is a change that’s in the favour of Leeds United, according to Graham Smyth.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist mooted a potential return for the Italian to the first team at Elland Road.
It’s viewed as the first step taken in the right direction by Leeds as the 19-year-old now looks likelier to stay at the club.
“Club sees it as a first step in the right direction. Now it’s over to Farke when we sit down with him this week to see how the land lies with the manager.”
Need him back
They supported him as a new player in the Premier League and despite him being raw and struggling initially, they were always behind him.
The way he pushed for an exit this summer has certainly infuriated a majority of the fanbase but they know that having him in the team increases their chances of getting promoted.
Dan James may look threatening on the left, but he does not have the game-changing ability and end product that Gnonto does.
The Italian can even play as a striker so until someone is signed, one can even expect him to lead the line for the Whites.
He is far better than their current options, undoubtedly, and it remains to be seen how his return is handled.
