‘Available as free agent soon’: Romano shares interesting update on Tottenham-linked playmaker -The Boy Hotspur
Japanese international midfielder Daichi Kamada has been linked with a move to AC Milan in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old midfielder was expected to join the Italian club on a free transfer but the move is now set to collapse.
According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have now switched their attention towards Samuel Chukwueze.
Kamada is available on a free transfer this summer and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to come in for him in the next few days.
The player has been linked with Tottenham in recent weeks and a report from Daily Express claims that the North London club have been keeping tabs on him for a while.
Kamada scored 16 goals across all competitions last season and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club. He managed to pick up seven assists as well.
Spurs need to add more quality and depth to their midfield and the Japanese international would be a useful option.
However, Spurs recently signed James Maddison from Leicester City and the England international plays in a similar role to that of the Japanese midfielder.
Ange Postecoglou will not be able to accommodate both players in the starting lineup and it remains to be seen whether Kamada is willing to accept the role of a squad player.
Signing a player of his ability on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke from Tottenham. Spurs will look to get back into the Champions League and they need a deeper squad with more quality next season
