Michigan is expected to name Kirk Campbell as its new offensive coordinator, sources tell @247sports.Campbell was Michigan’s QB coach in 2023 and helped JJ McCarthy emerge as a potential first-round pick. Was also interim OC for the team’s win over ECU.
He called plays during Michigan’s game against East Carolina this past season, and it’s one that the program won by 27, 30-3. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy finished the contest with 280 yards through the air and three touchdowns.
He was originally hired as an offensive analyst in 2022 before he was promoted to quarterbacks coach.
Before Michigan hired him, he was Old Dominion’s offensive coordinator from 2020-21 until the school let him go.
He’ll be calling the plays for the 2024 season even though Moore will also have a big hand in the offense since the latter called the plays for Michigan in 2023.
