Regarding Harry Kane’s future, Tottenham Hotspur has maintained a firm stance and insisted that the forward won’t be traded.

Clearly, Daniel Levy is hoping that the England captain’s drive to surpass the all-time Premier League scoring record will trump his thirst for hardware, considering he has no awards to show for his time spent in north London.

The 29-year-old has given his everything to this football club, but Bayern Munich is unfazed by this, and they are continuing to test the club’s will to hang onto a jewel with only one year left on his contract.

Ange Postecoglou would probably like to see this situation resolved quickly so he can begin to make plans for a better future at the team, whether or not his star player is present.

Given how active they have already been in the window, far more free-spending than in past years, it seems that their new coach will receive full backing to usher in a new age. Should Kane depart, as devastating as it would be, at the very least the former Celtic boss would get his pick of the new man set to spearhead his side.

With a focus on his physicality and a mindset geared toward winning titles, he may be an even better fit for a Postecoglou team that frequently requires the striker to run a lot.

The 57-year-old utilized Kyogo Furuhashi as a lone striker in Scotland, with his primary responsibility being to control the press. In his final season in command, his main goal scorer would still score 34 goals across all competitions, but because of the sacrifices he made for the squad, he created many more opportunities.

For all his outstanding qualities, Kane is unlikely to do that.

Few strikers in the contemporary game could be so prolific yet so inventive, making it nearly impossible to find a like-for-like successor for the guy who scored 30 Premier League goals last season amidst all the turbulence. To support that assertion, he would also average 1.5 critical passes each game (fourth best on the club).

But for the benefit of the team, his lucrative departure might open the door to a better future where they are not dependent on a single guy.

Long-term success in north London would result from redistributing funding to strengthen the general squad, and David would be a great focal point to support such revolutionary transformation.
