However, Brighton & Hove Albion’s manager Roberto De Zerbi was able to convince him to turn down Spurs, hijacking the move.

According to reports, Fati and De Zerbi “hit it off right from the start,” and the 20-year-old ultimately decided to reject Tottenham.

How has Fati fared at Brighton so far?

For Brighton, Fati has yet to make a start in a Premier League match, but he has played 116 minutes as a substitute in three appearances.

Last Saturday, the Spaniard netted Brighton’s lone goal in a 6-1 drubbing at Aston Villa, giving him his first Premier League goal.
