ALAN SHEARER THRILLED BY STRIKER LINKED WITH TOTTENHAM AS HARRY KANE REPLACEMENT

Alan Shearer has raved about Tottenham Hotspur target Evan Ferguson.

The Newcastle United legend has said on Match of the Day on BBC One that Evan Ferguson, who has been linked with a move to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, is very impressive.Shearer made the comments about Ferguson after the striker’s performance for Brighton and Hove Albion against Luton Town on Saturday.

Brighton beat Luton 4-1 at home in their opening Premier League game of the season.

Republic of Ireland international striker Ferguson scored for the Seagulls in the fifth minute of injury time.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Spurs in the summer transfer window.

The Athletic has reported that Tottenham have looked at signing Ferguson as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

England international striker Kane has moved to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

However, according to The Athletic, Brighton have “absolutely no intention of selling” Ferguson this summer.

The striker recently signed a new deal with the Seagulls.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur target Evan Ferguson

Ferguson has made 21 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The striker has scored seven goals and given two assists in those matches.

Shearer said about Ferguson: “I love everything about him. What I have seen, his hold-up play, his desire to get into the box, his strength, very impressive.”

While Ferguson is a very good and promising young striker, we believe that Tottenham should look at someone more experienced and more developed as a replacement for Kane.

It is going to be hard for Spurs to find a world-class striker to replace Kane, but we do not think that the North London club should expect an 18-year-old to fill the boots of the England international.

CLUB WILL ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT SELL THEIR ‘SPECIAL STRIKER’ TO TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Brighton and Hove Albion will not sell Evan Ferguson to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

The Athletic has reported that Tottenham Hotspur have looked at signing Evan Ferguson from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

England international striker Kane has joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Ferguson is among the strikers Spurs have looked at signing this summer.

However, according to The Athletic, Brighton have “absolutely no intention of selling” the 18-year-old striker in the summer transfer window.

The report has noted that Ferguson recently signed a new contract with Brighton that runs until 2028.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi described the Republic of Ireland international as “a special striker” in talkSPORT in March 2023.

Tottenham Hotspur unlikely to be able to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton and Hove Albion

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to be able to sign Evan Ferguson from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The striker signed a new contract recently, and he is only 18.

It would make sense for Brighton to develop Ferguson and help him establish himself as one of the best young strikers in the Premier League and then sell him in a few years’ time.

The Seagulls would be able to get a lot more in transfer fees then than they would now.

Ferguson himself might not be keen on a move to Tottenham right now.

After all, Brighton are going places and are playing wonderful football.

And the Seagulls do put faith in young players.

Ferguson has made 20 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The striker has scored six goals and given two assists in those matches.
