Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham have agreed a deal with Leeds United for Djed Spence.
The Spence to Leeds rumors have gained momentum in recent days, and it now appears like the two clubs have reached an agreement on a loan arrangement.
Romano claims that a £1 million sum has been agreed upon, and all that is needed is the player’s approval.
As he tweeted:
Djed Spence is scheduled to transfer from Tottenham to Leeds Utd on loan; the two teams have reached an agreement today.
£1 million loan fee, player approval required soon, and we’re off!
Tottenham apparently wanted to sell the player permanently, but the only bids that were made were for loans.
He was not only interested in being loaned to Leeds United. Swansea City and Bristol City were also interested in him, but Leeds United has taken the lead.
They have now added Joe Rodon and Spence to their loan roster, removing two players from Tottenham’s salary list.
Spence paid over £20 million to join Tottenham at the beginning of the last campaign, but he has not received enough playing time to demonstrate his talent.
He was hired by former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who later acknowledged in the press that the player was not a personal favorite but rather a club signing.
After Pedro Porro, a first team starter for Ange, was signed in January, he further slipped down the pecking order.
Spence now has an opportunity to shine at Leeds in the hopes that he can force his way into the Spurs lineup for the upcoming campaign.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for 28-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to a Daily Telegraph article, Manchester United is preparing a surprise acquisition of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The 28-year-old has recently been included in transfer rumors, particularly with the hiring of new manager Ange Postecoglou.
According to rumors, the 28-year-old is not a good fit for the Australian manager’s attacking system’s free-flowing nature. Tottenham is therefore prepared to sell him for the right price.
He has also been connected to teams like Atletico Madrid, but no deal has been struck. Manchester United, however, is in need of midfield reinforcements this summer, which is no news. Brazilian international Fred has already left, and before the summer transfer window closes, they might also lose Scott McTominay.
Both players must be appropriately replaced by the Red Devils, and Hojbjerg may prove to be a worthwhile addition. The 28-year-old is a seasoned Premier League player who may contribute right away at Old Trafford.
Also mentioned in connection with Manchester United are players like Sofyan Amrabat. The Danish international, though, will give Manchester United’s midfield a different set of talents that will assist them manage play in the middle of the field and control possession.
Another intriguing possibility for the player is the chance to transfer to Old Trafford. With Southampton and Tottenham, he has already demonstrated his talent in English football. He will be looking to advance professionally and may believe that joining Manchester United will provide him the opportunity to win significant titles.
The Red Devils undoubtedly have a strong team, and they have the cash to bring in elite talent.Manchester United will attempt to contend for the league title this season after Erik ten Hag assisted the Red Devils in winning a domestic trophy the previous season. Hojbjerg’s acquisition will undoubtedly aid Manchester United in developing and competing with the top Premier League teams.
