Tottenham have now received £21.5m bid for ‘fantastic’ first-teamer and it could get even bigger – journalist

This weekend, Tottenham Hotspur received an official bid for defender Emerson Royal from Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian, who has so far filled a variety of roles for Angel Postecoglou, has been an integral member of the first team squad this season.

But according to sources from earlier today, Saudi side Al-Nassr is now pursuing Royal. It was reported that Tottenham had rejected a proposal for the defender, and additional sources claim Royal is content enough to stay with Spurs.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now provided a little more information, stating that the bid that was received was approximately £21.5 million and that, as of right now, Al-Nassr may even submit a second bid.

Jacobs provided the following details when he went to X to provide an update on Royal.

Any amount less than that is probably going to be viewed as too low by the board because Spurs paid £26 million to add the “fantastic” Royal to the team.

That is, until a whopping bid of roughly £40 million is made.

The majority of Spurs supporters would agree that Emerson Royal isn’t their finest player—or even among their best defenders—at all.

But despite having trouble under Antonio Conte, he has made significant progress, and you have to commend the performances and mindset he has displayed this season.

Spurs have no business letting Royal go at this time, especially since there isn’t a hint of a replacement.

Yes, it’s something to think about if the money is too good. Even so, Tottenham must provide enough time to find a replacement.

It makes logical to retain Emerson Royal in place for the time being and wait to see whether the Saudi administration decides to make a ridiculous offer. It’s okay if they do.
