According to Mexican transfer guru Fernando Esquivel, Tottenham has now formally made an offer to Club America for center-back Sebastian Caceres.

Two weeks ago, Football Insider reported that Ange Postecoglou’s team was impressed by Aceres’s strong performance in Uruguay’s 2-0 victory over Brazil during last month’s international break. This was the first indication of Tottenham’s interest in the player.

The Record later identified Caceres’ two suitors, Tottenham and Sevilla, and implied that Club America is growing more and more resigned to the player’s departure in January.

Along with Tosin Adarabioyo, Lloyd Kelly, and Trevoh Chalobah, the 24-year-old is one of four central defenders that Spurs are reportedly considering. This information was confirmed a few days ago by 90 minutes.

Tottenham submit offer for Sebastian Caceres

Esquivel has now announced that the Spurs have begun talks about a possible deal for Caceres on X, formerly Twitter.

When the transfer window reopens in the winter, the journalist claims Tottenham has “sent a formal offer” to Club America to sign him.

According to him, Caeres and his delegates have approved the transfer, and the Mexican team will reply to the Premier League team’s offer in the “coming days.”

The fact that so many independent media sources are covering this story suggests that the Spurs are really interested in Caceres. The speed at which this transaction appears to be proceeding indicates that Postecoglou’s team is eager to move quickly to complete the transfer and get ahead of other European clubs.

Although there will always be the occasional game where everything goes wrong and gets out of hand, the mentality of the Tottenham players was impressive.
