Tottenham showing ‘firm interest’ in signing £52m star in January, player ready to join
Jonathan David of LOSC Lille is allegedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.
After selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich this summer, it was anticipated that Spurs would search for a new, seasoned striker to add to their roster. Even David was among the alternatives that were linked to them. They ultimately decided not to pursue anyone before the deadline, though.
Alejo Veliz and Brennan Johnson were added to the assault during the summer window to make it stronger. Johnson, though, is at ease playing out wide whereas Veliz, who is still young and needs time to build his career, does not.
Tottenham will thus do that in January after declining to recruit a productive center-forward the last time around. TEAMtalk claims that Spurs have ‘strong interest’ in signing David and that they have already stepped up their attempts to do so.
According to the report, Spurs are willing to sign the striker in January but are prepared to wait until next summer if they are unable to do so.

According to TEAMtalk, the Canadian is a wonderful fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system and would be a great addition to Tottenham’s front line.
The 23-year-old is reportedly open to leaving Lille and joining the Premier League, according to the report. If Tottenham formally expresses interest, they may be able to convince the forward to relocate to the recently restored White Hart Lane.
David, who is estimated to be worth £52 million by Transfermarkt, has recently shown off his ability to score goals in Ligue 1, and the North Londoners will be hoping that he can repeat that success in the Premier League if he joins the team in 2019.
To strengthen their assault, it has been reported that Spurs are also considering a move for Ivan Toney of Brentford. Therefore, David may be a backup plan if they are unable to get Toney’s signature.
It will be intriguing to watch whether Tottenham decides to officially express their interest in signing David during the forthcoming transfer window.
