‘It’s incredible’: Tottenham told they have a 20-year-old youngster who’s the best player in the PL at heading
Alejo Veliz, a teenage player for Tottenham Hotspur, is reportedly the greatest in the Premier League in the air.
Adrian Dezotti, Veliz’s previous head coach at Rosario Central, discussed the teenage striker with The Athletic.
Veliz, 20, joined Spurs for £13 million in the summer and has been gradually assimilated into Ange Postecoglou’s team.
The Argentine has already played two Premier League games for Tottenham, coming off the bench in victories against Luton and Liverpool.
Veliz hasn’t had much time to make an impression at Spurs yet, but he has a bright future ahead of him after scoring 11 goals in 23 matches for Argentina last season.
And according to his former coach, when it comes to heading, he is already the finest player in the Premier League.
Tottenham now told Veliz is the best in the Premier League at heading
Adrian Dezotti described Veliz’s abilities in the air as simply “incredible” in an interview with The Athletic.
“There is no other Premier League player who has the aerial game that Alejo has,” he stated, adding that he watches a lot of English football. It’s astounding.
After moving to England over the summer, Veliz is yet to make a start for Spurs. However, the young player has already demonstrated that Postecoglou could find him to be a handy alternative this year.
The young player has, in fact, given two encouraging performances while playing off the bench and appears to be a real presence up front.
Since scoring a hat-trick at Turf Moor last month, Son Heung-min has been Tottenham’s captain.
However, Richarlison just shifted to the left side, so Veliz might see more playing time following the break.

Sky Sports pundit admits Spurs summer signing has proven him wrong
After initially having some reservations about James Maddison’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports analyst Lee Hendrie has acknowledged that he has been proven wrong.
After the midfielder signed a five-year contract with the North Londoners and attracted interest from Newcastle United, Tottenham moved in to sign the England international from relegated Leicester City in a £40 million deal in June (Sky Sports).
With two goals and five assists in his first eight Premier League games, Maddison has had an immediate impact on Ange Postecoglou’s revamped Tottenham team and been instrumental in their ascent to the top of the standings (transfermarkt).
Is James Maddison the signing of the season?
“I did have a question mark over Maddison going to Spurs, I didn’t know if he was going to be able to take the step up to being in that category of top-four,” the former Aston Villa midfielder admitted to Sky Sports. He did an excellent job.
Maddison has already proven to be worth the £40 million that Spurs paid for him, and the player has not only excelled on the field but also embraced his position as vice-captain.
After Harry Kane moved for Bayern Munich, some people were left wondering where Tottenham’s attacking threat would come from; however, Maddison and Heung-min Son have particularly risen up to the mark.
