Leeds United boss Daniel Farke claims Jaidon Anthony was ‘really desperate’ to join the club on transfer deadline day.

After completing his transfer to Elland Road late on deadline day, Jaidon Anthony will have a “pretty important” role at Leeds United.

As the Friday deadline drew near, the Whites had to play some games.

Luis Sinisterra, a winger for Leeds, was wanted by Bournemouth in order to reunite him with Tyler Adams, another former Whites teammate.

Only until Leeds was able to find a substitute moving the other way did Sinisterra manage to secure his move to the South Coast.

Cherries far out, dude In return for Sinisterra, Anthony was given to Leeds on loan, giving Daniel Farke a quick replacement.

Leeds manager Farke recently lauded the 23-year-old in an interview with Leeds Live.

Given that Anthony has Championship experience under his belt, Farke believes he is the “best possible option” to replace Sinisterra.

Anthony has already made 50 appearances in the Championship for Bournemouth, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists.

Farke asserts the player will be a significant addition to Leeds’ squad and that he was’really desperate’ to join the team on transfer deadline day.

As he attempts to replace Sinisterra, Farke continued by saying that Anthony will now play a “pretty important role” for Leeds going forward.

Because Jaidon Anthony is a seasoned Championship player who has consistently produced strong performances for Bournemouth at this level, I believe we have discovered the greatest choice with him, according to Farke. He has begun the first games at Premier League level and has participated in numerous Premier League games. He is a great young man who is also quite eager to be here.

He’s still young enough to develop. Because Jaidon is still young and we want to work with him to progress, we can’t compare him to Luis because the latter was a well-known international player. However, Jaidon has a lot of quality and promise.

Jaidon Anthony was being linked with Arsenal just months ago

Even though he is only on loan, Anthony feels like somewhat of a victory for Leeds.

Anthony has played 153 minutes in the Premier League throughout the first few weeks of the current campaign.

Also noteworthy is the fact that earlier this year, Anthony was the subject of intense interest.

Arsenal reportedly sought Anthony’s return to the team in January, according to The Daily Mail.

London-born Anthony was released by the Gunners as a young player, but his performances for Bournemouth last season brought him back onto Arsenal’s radar.

After a few months, Anthony is now on loan to Leeds, where he will undoubtedly try to show that he is a winger of the caliber required by the Premier League.

Losing Sinisterra is a blow, of course, but Leeds may well have a top talent on their hands in Anthony.
