Fire Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor and his Coaching Staff

Why this petition matters

The toxic culture within the Cincinnati Bengals organization needs to change and that starts with firing Zac Taylor and his coaching staff. Going back to last year, the offensive line was abysmal. The front office made some minor changes to the offensive line during the draft and in the offseason, but did not spend adequate money on top tier free agents to protect their new Franchise Quarterback in Joe Burrow.

As we saw Sunday, the ineptitude of the Bengals organization put the future of Joe Burrow’s career and the franchise at risk when Burrow was taken out of the game due to an injured left knee. Joe Burrow getting hurt is not the sole reason why Taylor should be fired… Zac Taylor cannot win games. After almost two seasons, he holds the lowest winning percentage amongst every NFL Head Coach EVER!

Taylor’s Defensive Coordinator Lou Anarumo and Offensive Line Coach Jim Turner are far from the right fit for the Bengals. Anarumo forced Veteran Defensive End Carlos Dunlap out of Cincinnati and does not allow for open communication and accountability for his players. The way players are dealt with within the locker room has created dissention amongst the Bengals’ players.

With Jim Turner set in his ways, there is little competition on the offensive line because Turner has “his guys” and refuses to make changes. This has caused Joe Burrow to get hit 72 times over the course of 11 weeks and ended his stellar Rookie Campaign early due to a torn ACL and MCL caused by poor offensive line play.

Now that Burrow is on the Injured Reserve, the Bengals have Ryan Finley at Quarterback. Finely should not be on a NFL Roster let alone starting for the Bengals. His arm strength is weak and not of a NFL QB. Finley’s decision making skills are subpar and there is no reason to believe the Bengals can win with him at the helm.

By firing Zac Taylor and his coaching staff, the Bengals have an opportunity of a fresh start for Joe and the rest of the team. The toxicity within the locker room won’t change unless the coaching staff is gone. 2-Win seasons are unacceptable and not fixing an offensive line that is supposed to protect your franchise Quarterback is reason for being fired in itself.
