We find it difficult to accept that LeSean McCoy, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles for ten years, is the only running back worth a significant amount of money on multi-year contracts.

Though the free agency tampering window starts on Monday, NFL Network’s respected Tom Pelissero told us to “keep an eye” on the New York Giants star “coming home” to Philadelphia, so the rumors of a hunt for Saquon Barkley won’t go away.

 

A lot of rumors have been spread concerning Barkley, the Tennessee Titans, the Houston Texans, and the Dallas Cowboys, among other teams.

 

Barkley, who recently turned 27, could theoretically provide if he truly wants to be here.

 

– offer the Eagles a kind of “hometown discount” after competing for his high school team at Whitehall, a town in the Lehigh Valley located about an hour west of Philadelphia. He played at Penn State, of course.

We consider $12 million annually to be likely rather than “a hometown discount.”
